The story
Draws like a Tatar, kicks like a Manchu
Korean and Manchu archery have strongly influenced the growing Asiatic traditional archery community, and the consensus now is that a long draw is desirable in every Asiatic bow — even an Ottoman bow like the Solak or the Timurid Khan, neither of which would have been drawn past thirty inches historically.
Rather than simply scaling up the Khan, Robert went back to the Manchester Archery Collection and built a bow that sits fully within the Indo-Persian design spectrum. It draws smooth like a Tatar bow but shoots with a gentle Manchu kick, which experienced archers will appreciate. Get some slightly heavier arrows, draw past your ear to your shoulder — and boom.
